ANCHOR POST (Standard Floor Mount)
Anchor Post is heavy-duty welded steel tubing, capped. The floor mount plate is welded to the post. Leveling shims are included for proper post installation.
ANCHOR POST (Optional Side Mount)
Heavy-duty welded steel tubing, capped. The Side Mount Anchor Post is suitable for bolting or welding to a machine, wall, or other support.
LATCH POST (Tall)
Tall Latch Post is heavy-duty welded steel tubing, capped. The floor mount plate is welded to the post. Leveling shims are included for proper installation of the post to the floor. The Latch Bracket is side mounted to the post and permits padlocking of the Latch Pin.
LATCH POST (Short}
Short Latch Post is heavy-duty welded steel tubing, capped. The floor mount plate is welded to the post. Leveling shims are included for proper installation of the post to the floor. A hole in the top of the Latch Post accommodates the Latch Pin. Latch Pin cannot be padlocked.
LATCH BRACKET (Optional replacement for Std. Latch Post)
This is a steel bar with a hole in it to accommodate the latch pin. The Latch Bracket is normally welded either to a machine or to an existing structure such as a post in situations where an extra Latch Post would be redundant. (Note: a Flange Mounted Latch Bracket is also available should you prefer to bolt the bracket into place instead of welding it).
LATCH PIN
The Latch Pin is an “L” shaped 3/4” diameter steel pin that travels with the gate gate and is secured by a chain. It physically secures the fence to either the Latch Post or Latch Bracket when in the closed position. It is drilled to accommodate a padlock.
MOUNTING BOLT HARDWARE (for Std. Anchor/Latch Post)
1/2” cement bolts are included for installation. The only tools needed for installation are a drill motor, cement drill, hammer to tap the anchors into the floor, bubble level, and wrench to tighten the anchor bolts.
EXTENDAMATIC LINKS
Links are made from welded steel tubing. Each link has a protective plastic cap on each end. Precision-machined pivot holes are drilled and reamed for best bearing surface. Links are sandwiched together with a lubricated for life thrust washer and secured together with hardened and precision ground pivot bolts which provide exceptional rigidity over extended fence lengths. Machined spacer block, mounting blocks and wheel mounts are secured to the end side support plates with alloy bolts.
CASTERS
Casters are 5” diameter swivel type “Durastan” casters with high capacity roller bearings. Each has a 575 lb. load capacity.
DROP PIN
This is a lockable, 3/4” diameter steel pin that mounts vertically to the latching stanchion of the gate and drops into a hole drilled into the floor. This pin is normally used on a double gate configuration to prevent the fence from being pushed inward and on very long gates to mitigate side forces. It is also used to assure that portable gates are indexed to the exact same position.
TWO-HAND ANTI-PINCH CONTROL HANDLES
A chrome-plated 2” diameter ball handle is mounted on top of the Latching End of the fence, away from the linkage movement for operator safety. It is primarily used to assure that the operator’s hands are in a safe position while retracting the gate. The Anti-Pinch Control Handle is a weighted Latch with Ball Handle that is top-mounted to the Anchor End of the gate. When the operator retracts the gate, the gate locks up when the gap between the links approaches pinching range (2-3/4”). At that point both of the operator's hands must be on the control handles in order to release the safety lock and complete the retraction.
REPAIRABLE
A nice feature of Extendamatic retractable guarding is that it is bolted together and not riveted. In case of accidental damage, any damaged parts can be removed and quickly replaced.
ELECTRICAL INTERLOCK
When applicable, Brad Harrison heavy-duty shorting plug and Brad Harrison heavy-duty Plug Receptacle are used for machine interlocks. High flexible 3-wire, 10-amp rated industrial electrical cord is internally threaded through the Extendamatic linkage making it resistant to external damage or tampering. Strain relief cord grips are used as required.
POWDERCOATING
Tiger Drylac (a premium powder coat about 2 times the cost of standard powder coat paint) is used because it is tougher, holds up better in industrial applications, and provides you with a beautifully finished product.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
“Step-by-step” installation drawings are supplied relevant to each purchase configuration. Installation is quick and easy.
WARRANTY
The Extendamatic warranty is for a period of 1-year and covers replacement of any defective parts. Labor is not included.
